Rosalie wrapped her jacket tighter around her torso as she walked through the hallways. Classes had finally ended for the day, and she couldn't help but smile at the thought of going outside. That was all she wanted to do today, and it didn't help that Care of Magical Creatures had been cancelled because one of the animals for class today was injured. Although it was slightly chilly now, from the almost nighttime air, she walked outside through the large, wooden doors. Instead of walking towards the Black Lake, where she usually sat, she walked towards the courtyard. When she got to one of the benches, she laid down on her back. letting her long hair fall over the edge. Her hands made their way into her pockets to keep from freezing. She let out a soft sigh, watching as her cloud of breath swirled up into the air. It made her giggle a bit, watching it twist. That's when you knew it was cold enough outside.
Rosalie's gaze fell upon the sky above her. It was really the easiest place to look at when laying on your back, but ya know... The sky looked really pretty tonight. It wasn't just a blue color, or even a grey color. It was a blue mixed with different shades of pink, orange, and even a little purple. It was leaving a pink-ish tint on everything around her. Not that Rosalie minded, though. She watched as a few birds flew overhead, almost as if they didn't have a care in the world. Her gaze shifted a bit, as she watched the clouds float lazily through the sky, taking all the time in the world. A short gust of wind blew a few leaves around in the air, and one landed on the bench she was currently laying on. She picked it up and placed it in the palm of her hand, blowing it away.

Hugo had loved all his lessons that day bar Care of Magical Creatures because it was canceled. He quite liked the subject because despite the fact many students got an injury from one of the creatures at least once he was able to enjoy the environment Hogwarts truly was set in. Sure, he saw the castle everyday but he rarely got a look at nature and it bothered him. Hugo was used to the great outdoors due to the fact the environment he lived in with the rest of the Weasleys. He was always outside watching them play Quidditch but he also admired the setting around him. He quite liked the evening sky because of the contrast of colors. Hugo strolled calmly towards the courtyard from his previous lesson. He would at least have peace then and it was also a great place to admire the sky.
Hugo had other things on his mind though to like who he was going to prank next and who with. He always had an accomplice because he lacked the confidence and social skills to act most of them out properly. Hugo's talent was his mind and his plausible ideas. He was optimistic and determined which only made his pranks much more effective. He didn't always use his talents in such a way though, he applied himself to his schoolwork too but obviously pulling a prank was much more fun and appealing. Hugo also felt a little upset because Victoire, his cousin had transferred school. He was usually calm and laid back but in this instance he had proved to be a little more emotional and assertive. He had told her to stay at Hogwarts where she had belonged but she refused to listen and because of that Hugo felt betrayed.
Hugo smiled as he entered the courtyard and he spotted a bench that at his angle looked free. He ran a hand through his spiked blonde hair as he walked over and he stopped dead in his tracks. He had been mistaken - there on the bench was one Rosalie Young, a girl in his year. Hugo hadn't spoken to her much so he was cautious but he was also aware that she had been speaking with some of his cousins. He undoubtedly thought she was cute so he felt the nerves set in. "Hey, you're Rosalie Young, right?" Hugo asked simply. "I'm Hugo Weasley, nice to met you properly." He wasn't usually one for small talk, he was pretty reserved and he only spoke about things that mattered. His opinion was valuable after all. "I love nature, what about you?" Hugo asked in an attempt to break the tension.
He was sure that she was a fan of nature because of the way she was lay almost unnoticeable. Hugo saw the way she was looking at the colorful sky too and it made him smile. He was glad he wasn't the only fan of good scenery at Hogwarts.

Rosalie couldn't help but let her mind wander back to her classes from today. She had a few essays that she needed to finish, but she wasn't too worried about them. Like always, she would manage to finish them before the due date. Her favorite class today was definitely Defence Against the Dark Arts. She had always been a fan of that class. And since she couldn't go to her all-time favorite class, Care of Magical Creatures, she would just have to settle. Recently, she had been even more fascinated with the creatures, though. She had no idea why, but it seemed so much more interesting than it ever was. She ran a hand through her blond locks as she thought. Her cheeks were burning from the cold, but she ignored it, happy to be out in the peace and quiet, and such a beautiful place.
The courtyards had always been much like a safe haven for Rosalie. She wasn't really bothered by anybody, and when she was, it wasn't a big deal. She liked having company. But when she was alone, she took the time to think and just relax...something she could never seem to do in the Gryffindor common room. It was too rowdy in there, so she usually ended up doing her homework outside or in the library. She wasn't going to even try to fight for the peace and quiet. It was a losing battle, and she knew it wasn't worth it. The only time she really spent in the common room, was when she was cold and wanted to sit by the fire, or when she was hanging out with friends. Many of her friends liked to spend their time sitting inside and playing Exploding Snap, whereas she preferred to spend her time outside with friends, or even alone. Either way works for her, as long as she's happy.
Rosalie was able to hear the soft crunch of footsteps amongst the dying grass, but she wasn't ready to steel her gaze away from the setting sun. A voice startled her from her voice, causing her to sit up and look at the boy properly. She recognized him immediately. He was one of Danica and Fred's cousins. Hugo, if she remembered correctly. She gave him a small smile as he asked if he had her name right, and also introduced himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you, too, Hugo," Rosalie grinned. "Yes, I'm Rosalie, but you can call me Rosie." She couldn't help but smile at him, blushing a bit. "Would you like to join me?" she asked, gesturing to the seat next to her. "And to answer your question, yes. I could sit out here all day, if we didn't have classes."

Hugo smiled softly and he took the spare seat beside her like she had offered. "Sure then, Rosie," he glanced at her and smiled nervously. Hugo considered himself a failure at conversations that didn't consist of schoolwork, his family, landscapes or Quidditch. He knew he was considered to be a boring person but he didn't care because after all nobody could be perfect. Hugo wasn't the best at socializing nor did he have fantastic hobbies but he was a natural genius and a cool headed guy. He was proud to be who he was and he wasn't about to make exceptions for anyone, not even his own family. "Thank you," Hugo smiled as he woke up from his thoughts. "I mean you're a pretty popular girl, right? I'm sure you have much cooler guys to hang around with than me, I'm pretty lame." Hugo didn't mean to put himself down but it was true. He knew that Rosalie was a very cute, popular girl who had a tendency to win people over with her charm. Well, that was Hugo's interpretation anyway.
"It's great to find another admirer of the Scottish landscape. I usually find that people tend to love urban landscapes, but me? I guess I'm unique," Hugo rambled slightly. "Sorry for rambling." He had to apologize because hadn't exactly met her before and he didn't want to leave a bad impression. He hated boring people but he had strong opinions which he rarely got to voice. Hugo's own family found it a rarity that he'd chip into a discussion. "Rosie, you know some of my family right? I swear I've heard your name mentioned before," Hugo asked inquisitively. He thought that anyone that could possibly cope with anyone else in his family could cope with him. Hugo considered himself the much more tame Weasley and most people agreed.
He looked up at the sky and he watched the contrast of colors bursting as time slowly ticked away. He loved the setting that he was in with the girl and he glanced at her once more, but he looked into her eyes with his. He felt for a moment like she could tell him to do anything and he'd do it. Her eyes made her look so innocent which only made them a much more powerful tool.

Rosalie smiled as Hugo sat next to her. He seemed like a shy person, but she had a feeling that he was also very sweet and kind. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and hugging her knees to her chest, she looked around their surroundings. She wouldn't consider herself shy, except sometimes around boys. But other than that, she could be a total chatterbox at times. "You're welcome," she grinned a bit. As she played with the red shoelace on her Converse, she turned in surprise as Hugo asked her a question. She immediately shook her head in response. "I wouldn't exactly consider myself popular," she began, shrugging her shoulders. "I guess I'm just friendly. I'll talk to anyone," she answered truthfully. "Especially you," she said with a small smile. "You seem like a nice guy, so I have no reason not to talk to you."
Rosalie rested her cheek on her knee, so that she could look at him as he talked. "I understand completely. I like sunsets and sunrises, mainly. They're both very calming and peaceful. I also love the nighttime sky, watching the stars has always been fun for me," she commented, also looking back up at the sky. The colors were slowly mixing, blending from late afternoon, to nightfall. She switched positions so that she was sitting Indian style, as the Muggles would call it. Then Hugo apologized for rambling and she just smiled. "No need. I'm interested in what you have to say," she told him honestly. "Yes, I do know them. Well, I've met Fred and Dani, and I know a few of the others," she admitted. Fred was practically her partner in crime, and Dani was teaching her to fly. The guts that girl had.
Rosalie cocked her head to the side, watching as a few birds flew across the sky, perching in a tree. Then she saw that the sun was nearly set, almost falling perfectly in place. What a picture-perfect moment, she couldn't help but think and grin to herself.

"Nice shoes," Hugo smiled whilst she toyed with her shoe lace. He wasn't a huge fan of muggle clothing but he knew that they were Converse. "If you get on with most people, like you, then you're popular," Hugo smiled weakly. He thought that maybe she was being modest or something because she seemed easy to get on with. He wasn't lucky enough to be popular and was thus categorized as the geek or nerd. Hugo wasn't exactly happy about it but he accepted who he was and nobody could change that. He was a nerd because he excelled in what others could not, he was at least unique in his own way. He supposed that's why he was sorted into Ravenclaw over Gryffindor - the house he had longed to be in.
Hugo thought that it was unfair for him to be placed in Ravenclaw because after all his parents were Gryffindors and famous ones at that. He thought it was embarrassing for his whole family and it was all because he didn't have that flare of bravery. He lacked that flare of confidence. "You mean that?" he asked turning a little red. "I mean, I still don't get it, I'm a geek right?" Hugo wasn't used to people complimenting him, only his family did. He felt like all the nerves he had before were broken. "I think sunset is the best because of all the contrasts of color," he smiled warmly. "However I still think any time of day is never dull." Hugo was being pretty honest with her and it felt good to have someone other than her cousins to talk to.
"You'd be the first," he laughed slightly. He respected her for being such a good listener because most people would pay no attention to him. "I feel for you, my family is mad. I'm probably more difficult to talk to though," Hugo smiled softly. He was reserved and definitely not as outgoing as those particular cousins.

"Oh, thank you," Rosalie grinned a bit, a light pink tint crossing her cheeks as he complimented her shoes. They were actually quite new, a surprise for her, considering she wasn't always the luckiest girl. Her parents were often too busy to notice her, so she was surprised when they actually remembered a birthday, or even Christmas. "I only get along with them, because I don't like having enemies," she told him honestly. She didn't like it when people hated her. She'd much rather have friends than enemies. She wasn't the type to judge somebody based on race or looks, only personality. "Thank you, but I don't think you're right. I'm not popular, just kind," she corrected, but not in a reprimanding way. Just stating a simple fact that he seemed to be wrong with. "No matter what others say, I'm me. Label jars, not people," she grinned.
"Of course I mean it. If I didn't mean it, I wouldn't have said it," she said, smiling up at him. She didn't lie. In fact, most people have actually told her that she's too honest. Oh well. She would rather tell a person the truth so that it saves them in the long run. She can be rather blunt at times, but she is a bit embarrassed about it. When she's frustrated, is when she speaks her mind the most. "You're not a geek. You're a person, who I happen to find very cute, sweet, and kind," she grinned, but then blushed as she realized what she said. Of course she meant it, but she didn't thnk she really had the guts to mention cute. Rosalie nodded in agreement. "Sunset is a beautiful time of day, but you're right. Any time of day can be fascinating. Just depends on where you are, and how you decide to view the world around you." "Why do you say that?" she asked. She scrunched her nose up in confusion. "Why wouldn't somebody want to listen to you?" When he mentioned being harder to talk to, she shook her head. "Not at all. You're actually very easy to talk to," she admitted, smiling softly.

"You're welcome." Hugo admired her shoes because despite the fact that he wasn't a fan of muggle attire, he thought that they were fashionable and cool. He wasn't one to follow the crowd but he did like the look of them. "Do you feel the same way about me?" he smiled weakly. Hugo liked Rosalie, not in the way that people thought he did, but in a friendly sort of way. He wanted to be friends with her because she seemed unlike the others in his year, and besides he needed somebody other than Rose to trust. He had been confiding in his sister alone since they were kids and he felt that it was time to ease the burden upon his sister. Perhaps having a proper friend that he could trust could be beneficial for everyone around him.
"Fine, you're right," he laughed slightly. He certainly had a problem with being assertive and no matter what the predicament if something was pressed against him he would be forced in submission. Hugo lacked strength and willpower and because of it everyone abused him. "I'm sorry." He was apologizing for labeling her, because he didn't want to leave a bad impression by saying something stupid like that. He was judging her based on what he had witnessed about the school and it was ignorant of him to do so. "Sorry, it's just I'm not used to having people around me that appreciate me," he looked into her eyes briefly. It was apparent that his friends for the most part couldn't give two monkeys about him and hung around for help with studying. Hugo had always wanted to feel liked and appreciated by someone and he was happy to have achieved that goal.
"Oh-h, I-I... Thank you," he stuttered, his skin turning a bright red. He was really embarrassed and he hated making him look like a prat so he tried to stay quiet for a moment or two in hope that he wouldn't continue to stutter. "I think you're beautiful, too." It felt necessary to return a compliment although he thought he might have made himself look like a fool. He didn't want to leave the wrong impression, after all he barely knew her and it'd seem a tad weird. "Oh yes, that's true," he smiled, swinging his legs slightly.
"I'm a boring person, Rosie. I'ma better listener than a speaker." It was the truth though, he hated speaking to people and he hated being the center of the topic even more. He was used to it though, because Rose craved attention but lately she seemed to care more about him. She always seemed to want to talk about him, who he was with and his silly habits. It was nice to get things off of his chest but sometimes it was annoyance. "Thank you, you're to good to me."

Rosalie cocked her head to the side, a small smile playing on her lips. She put her hands back in her pockets thanks to the cold air, but she looked up at Hugo with a goofy grin. For some strange reason, she found him very easy to talk to. Like, kind of how it was with her and Dani or her and Fred. Maybe it was in the Weasley genes, she thought, rolling her eyes internally at the silly thought. She thought it was nice to talk to somebody new, and she was very happy that she had met him. "It depends on what you're asking," she answered, slightly confused. "I think that you're a very nice person. Popular? It's a term to describe people that others look up to or admire. In my opinion, it doesn't mean much. I think personality is the only thing that matters,"she spoke truthfully. Although looks were always a bonus, she preferred personality. A cute but very rude person won't make it as far as a not-so-great-looking person with a gentle heart. Or at least, that's how Rosalie thinks of the world.
"Yay, that doesn't happen very often," she joked. She did fine in school, but a lot of people said that she was very ditzy and goofy at times. Her response would always be "At least I'm having fun." And it was true. Rosalie just wanted to have fun. She was still young, there would be plenty of time to act mature once she left Hogwarts. Of course, she still had two years to even think about that. "No need to apologize," she said, smiling. "As long as its nothing big, then I don't think you'll need to apologize for anything with me," she added. "I'm a pretty forgiving person." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before answering him, "Well, you better get used to it. I have a feeling I'll be around a lot," she teased.
"You're welcome," she said in response to him thanking her. As he complimented her back, she let her hair fall in front of her face a bit, hoping to hide her cheeks that now felt like they were on fire. Begging the pink color to go away, she mumbled softly, "Thank you." Although she had just met him, she couldn't help but feel slightly giddy after that comment. She had never been called beautiful, by a boy, let alone her parents! Her parents pretty much hated her now that she was a witch. They had never been able to accept who she was. She grinned a bit, looking back up at him, and nodding her head in agreement.
She rolled her eyes in a playful manner. "Obviously you aren't. I haven't fallen asleep yet, have I?" she teased, raising an eyebrow. She kind of wanted to get something off her chest, that had been there throughout the entire conversation. She didn't want to tell him, but she did at the same time...should she? "I'm just being myself, I'm not trying, but you're welcome, anyways," she said, smiling cheekily. "Can I tell you something, but you have to promise not to tell anybody else?" There was that bluntness again...

Hugo couldn't help but smile at her. It was out of character for him to be so happy around people, especially people who he didn't know to well. He was the type of guy who always had a serious look on his face but it appeared that Rosalie had softened him up a little. He didn't want to think about it to much though because he didn't want to fool himself into thinking that he had feelings for her or something. "Are you getting along with me because you don't like to have enemies or are you being genuine." He was unsure if he could be any blunter with his words. He didn't want to be played around with and he had enough fake friends anyway. Hugo needed a proper friend, somebody who he could trust with his secrets. He had to stop leeching Roses's advise because she was surely getting bored with him and besides, he was growing up and he didn't want to be a dork who had to count on their sister for everything for all of their life. That would be incredibly embarrassing.
"Thank you but is it so great to be the nice guy all the time? I mean look at me. I haven't many friends and my family sympathizes with me," he asked with a streak of anger in his tone. Hugo had just made himself look like a proper loser in front of the only girl he had the balls to talk to. Ever. He didn't care though because if she wanted to be his friend then she'd need to know him properly. Everybody in his family always described Hugo to people as sweet and smart but those were only his strengths. Although even his strengths were his weaknesses, that's how pathetic he really was. He was never one to big himself or other people up because no matter what description a person could have, they'd never be perfect. Hugo also wasn't going to lie to her either and make out that he was happy with his lifestyle because deep down he really hated what he'd let himself become.
"Well it should," he replied with a simple smile. He didn't like being so submissive but it was what he had become after suffering through a lot of pushing around. He took everything to heart and it had come to the point where he couldn't brush insults off his shoulder like they were nothing. Insults had begun to really upset him and he was quite self-conscious. "Sure," he nodded his head. Hugo didn't feel like he had to apologize a lot of the time, he just did it. It was part of his submissive nature and all. "Oh, I adjust rather quickly so don't worry," he smiled sweetly. He hadn't picked up that she was teasing until after had replied but he hoped that she believed his reply to be of a teasing nature too or something like that. It would make him look like an idiot if she didn't.
Hugo smiled as she replied to his thanks and he gave her a puzzled look for her actions after he complimented her. He wasn't the greatest at understanding people but he was sure it was embarrassment or something. "Did I say something wrong?" he blurted out. It made him feel a little guilty until she thanked him. "You're welcome." Hugo clearly was confused at that moment in time because at first it appeared as if he had done something wrong but afterwards it appeared he'd done something right? Unless it was because she had feelings for him or something but he thought that was impossible. Rosalie was an amazing girl with the perfect looks and the perfect personality and he was sure she could pull any fifth year boys in the school.
"I suppose,"he laughed. She was teasing him and he couldn't think of anything to tease her back with. He was a failure at social situations which involved people skills. Hugo was best at understanding books, spells and potions not people. It was wrong though to him. He nodded at her answer and he smiled. She mentioned about telling him something and he grinned mischievously, "I promise not to tell anyone." He crossed his fingers and listened eagerly.

Rosalie was happy that she was talking to Hugo right now. It seemed strange and new for her. With most people, she immediately clicked with them. But with Hugo, it was almost as if she was trying to break him out of his shell, and she kind of liked it. It was different than what she was used to. Then Hugo asked her a question, and it felt like a slap to the face. Not literally, but she was certainly taken aback by the question. "Uhm, w-what? No, Hugo, I p-promise, I'm being absolutely genuine," she said, her voice slightly shaken up from the surprise of the question. She didn't think he could be as blunt as her. Oh well, 'never judge a book by its cover' she reminded herself of the Muggle saying she often quoted.
"I honestly can't answer that," Rosalie said, shaking her head a bit, a small frown tugging on the ends of her lips. She was actually a bit speechless. What was there to say? She had always been the good person because she thought that it was the best thing to do. It would help her get along with everyone, and she knew that being a good person made her one that some people looked up to. Taking a breath before answering, she finally spoke. "Hugo, if your friends don't like you for who you are, then they aren't true friends. Your family loves you, and that should mean a lot," she said, trying to keep a bitter tone away as she thought of her own family. Her family hated her and it still bugged her. "Although not everybody shows it, there's a lot of people who do like you, possibly look up to you as a role model," she told him. "Just know, that I may not always have the best advice, but I can be a good listener when I need to be," she added softly.
She laughed a bit. "I wish it did," she grinned. Recently, she had felt like her advice was useless. She never felt like she was doing enough and it really bothered her. She didn't like it when she wasn't living up to everybody's expectations. She wasn't always the best at helping people, but she did what she could. She just felt like she wasn't doing everything to the best of her abilities. She smiled as he said sure to not apologizing around her. She really did mean it, considering if it wasn't anything that would surely kill her or hurt her or anything that bugged her, then it wasn't worth an apology. "Good," she grinned a bit as he said he adjusted quickly. She wasn't sure if he had meant it in a teasing way or not, but she took it as one. She tilted her head back to look at the sky. It was more purple and dark blue than pink and orange, now. Really pretty.
"No, no, no," she answered immediately when he asked if he said anything wrong. "Not at all," she promised. She couldn't help but smile at him as he replied to her thanks. "It was uhm, nothing," she told him, shaking her head a bit. He wouldn't care. The only reason she had blushed was because she was rarely ever complimented like that. Not even by her family, seeing as her family completely hated her. She just gave him a small smile. "Don't worry, I uh, promise you, it's nothing," she mumbled. There was still the tint of pink on her cheeks as she brushed her hair back away from her face. She wasn't sure, but she felt like an idiot. She thought she was starting to like Hugo, but she didn't know. It was obvious that somebody as sweet as him would never like her. It just doesn't match up. As nice as she could be, she was the exact opposite of perfect. She was completely flawed, and she just tried not to show it.
Rosalie smiled at him as she let out a small laugh, too. She rested her head on her hand as she looked at Hugo. She watched him grin as he promised. She had no idea why she felt like she should tell him, but she just thought she could trust him. "I don't mean this in any offense to you, but your sister terrifies me," she admitted softly, blushing and looking at anything but him. She went back to playing with the thread on her jeans before slowly looking up at him. She hoped he wouldn't be too upset about how blunt she was with that statement.

It was out of character for Hugo to be so confident around such an attractive girl. He wasn't entirely sure why he had the guts to speak to her but he was glad he had. Rosalie seemed different to all the other girls at Hogwarts, she had a heart. Hugo picked up that his question had caught her off guard, or a least he thought so. "I'm sorry, I just needed to know." He didn't mean to seem grumpy or anything. It did mean a lot to him that he was unique to her other acquaintances in Hogwarts. He felt over the moon that he finally had a friend that he could call his own, a true friend anyway. He didn't want to appear too desperate though so he kept quiet. She'd probably be freaked out by it.
He looked up and nodded his head at her slowly. God, he was such a fool for bringing up it. He didn't want to seem like he pitied himself, because he actually didn't, he just wanted to know. It had bugged him though, that everyone tried to comfort him by calling him sweet or kind. Hugo felt that it was those two traits that had made him such a target for bullying and it had also caused him to lack friends. He didn't have that bite that everyone else had. It was almost impossible for him to stand up to anyone that called him names because he actually agreed with them. He was always constantly picking faults with himself in hope that he could mend them. "Oh yeah, about that. I'm the weirdo of the whole family. I'm sure that they don't love me, they pity me." Family was a touchy subject for him most of the time but he had to get his feelings off of his chest. He felt that only Rose loved and cared for him, and she wasn't exactly the best influence.
"Are you kidding?" he couldn't help but laugh at the thought of anyone looking up to him. "If they want to be like me and get picked on everyday then so be it." He felt like she was pitying him and that's why she was trying to comfort him. If anyone looked up to the kid that got called names by kids younger than him then they were mad. "Thank you," he smiled back at her warmly. He really wanted to just tell her there and then about his drinking problem. It had all started because of depression, anger and loneliness. He didn't feel like he knew her enough to tell her though, so he bottled it up inside.
"If you stick around with me more then you're bound to hear it a lot," he grinned cheekily. Hugo agreed with anyone, friend or foe. It annoyed his sister though because she just wanted him to be like her. She wanted him to be ballsy and sociable but he just couldn't be that. His confidence had certainly taken a knock when he had been sorted into Ravenclaw, not Gryffindor. It was then down to the bullies to destroy what he had left. He returned his gaze to Rosalie and he felt relieved that she hadn't picked up on the fact that he wasn't teasing. Well, he thought she hadn't.
He listened to her tone and he watched her actions. Although she tried to deny that it was nothing he still felt somewhat stupid. He knew there was something up with her, or even him. It was like there was so much awkwardness between them. His fondness for her was growing and he wasn't about to ruin the moment because of something stupid he'd said. "No, no, I've said something wrong. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." Hugo was definitely a failure at understanding girls and that was perhaps the reason that he was labeled sweet or cute.
"Don't worry about it, I feel exactly the same way," he nodded with a smile. "I'll admit that my sister is an attention seeker, and she can be a bitch but she's my sister and I love her." Hugo understood what Rosalie was saying but he also felt that his sister was the closest friend he had. She had always been there for him, unlike the rest of his family and friends and he knew she always would be. "If we're sharing secrets then here's mine," he swallowed for a second and thought about how he was going to tell her. "I've got a bad habit of drinking alcohol, by myself, whenever I can make time for it." She might not have wanted to know but he felt it was fair to say a secret since she had shared her's with him.

Rosalie shook her head. "No, it's okay. I, uh, guess I understand," she responded, putting a small smile on her face. She kind of did understand his reason for asking the question, but she felt a bit guilty. Is that what people really thought about her? Did they only think she was nice because she didn't want to make an enemy? That really worried her. She was nice to people, because until proven otherwise, she didn't see a reason to be nasty. Towards anybody. Everybody should be treeted equally, race or blood status. She shook her head internally, knowing that if even Hugo, one of the nicest people she had ever met, was wondering this, then a lot of people were probably thinking it. She let out a small sigh before focusing her attention back on the dirty-blonde haired boy in front of her.
Rosalie had to bite her tongue as she wanted to make a remark, but she held it back. Tears stung at the back of her eyes, but she looked down, hoping that they wouldn't fall now. She really didn't need that. "Hugo, I'm sure your family loves you. Dani is always saying what a great kid you are, and that she does love you," she spoke softly. She hated sounding like this. She felt almost weak, and she didn't want to show it. It was tough. Family had never been her favorite thing to talk about, and she was always jealous when other people complained about their family. 'my family never shuts up' or 'my little sister won't stop bugging me'. How she actually wished she could say those types of things. "They have no reason to pity you. You're nice and kind, Hugo. Those right there are two traits that are very valuable in life, and can carry you pretty far. Plus, you're smart, the perfect trifecta," she told him, trying to lighten her otne a bit.
Rosalie shook her head to answer his probably rhetorical question. "Nope, not kidding," she answered simply. The truth was, although she didn't really know him well, she did look up to him a bit. In two ways. Well, one, she was short. She had to look up at him. Two, he was smart and kind. He wasn't fake, and although he may not be proud of himself, she thought he was a great person. She quirked an eyebrow and glared at him playfully. "Dude, truth is, I kinda look up to you," she admitted, smiling. "And do you see me getting picked on?" She took a breath before saying, "Why don't you show your true self to people if you don't like people just describing you as sweet and kind?" she asked, cocking her head to one side.
She nodded her head slightly, as if to say, 'you're welcome'. She smiled a bit. "Well, I'll only be around if you want me to be around," she told him. If he didn't like her, she would stay away. That's just how she was. If a person didn't want her to be around, she would leave them alone, just like they requested. She crossed her fingers internally, hoping that he would want her to be around more often. It was just nice being able to talk to him. She found it easier to talk to him than some of her best friends, which was strange. Why was she able to be so comfortable around him, when they had only known each other for...not even a whole day, really.
Rosalie couldn't help but give him a hopeful smile. "I promise you. You did absolutely nothing wrong. Being called beautiful is just, er, much different than what I'm used to," she explained, hoping that would clear things up a bit. She had only been called ugly, hideous, an old dog, and she had once been called pretty by Fred. That's it. Nothing glorious, and nothing too bad. She was pretty used to being insulted by her family. Mainly her parents. But nobody knew of that, and hopefully it would stay that way for a while. Dani had found out that they didn't have a very healthy relationship, but she didn't know that her parents, when they actually spoke to her, treated her like crap.
Rosalie nodded a bit. "I understand. Family should mean the world to you," she smiled a bit, wishing that she had a sister. Being an only child kinda sucked, and she wasn't afraid to admit that. She rested her head on the back of the bench, yawning a bit before looking back at Hugo. She thought the cold was making her tired, and pulled her jacket a bit tighter against her shivering body. Hugo then told her about his drinking habit. Once again, that don't judge people rule had to kick in. As innocent as people may seem, guess they aren't always what they seem. "I see," she started. "Well, I guess we all do have habits that make us different from others," she mused.
