Bella had a really bad night in the slytherin dorms, most of her friends were sleeping. Though, for the seventh year that was the last thing on her mind. She was starting to have a lot of nightmares. She would be cranky in the morning hours because of these dreams she was always having. Most though called the young slytherin a bitch to a point, only because she was a loud mouth girl who tended to be a bitch to everyone. She rose putting a pair of pants and a sweater on as she walked up the stair case from the dungeons. She quietly walked through the hallways making sure no prefect was around to bust her. The thought of another detention just wasn’t her idea. Though, she tended to flirt her way out with the boy prefects. She headed out of the castle towards the towers. Her brown curly hair bounced as she walked the grounds figuring no one was outside. She headed up to the Astronomy tower figuring maybe she could relax in the moon light and get her mind off of having nightmares at night. She knew what it was from she was studying hard to make some grades for her tests in her classes.
Belle started to head up the winding stairs knowing this was her favorite class when classes were held outside. She would always look up to the stars and make stupid little wishes or just enjoy their beauty. She knew what they were, suns from galaxies far far away. For most the stars held their own meanings. For Bella it was just something to make her calm down. She reached the top of the stairs opening the tower door and walked in. She walked across the wooden floor reaching the window. She smiled and sat on the window seal putting her legs out side. Bella had an adventurous side to her, and she loved to always try something dangerous. She heard footsteps behind her as she turned bangs fell in front of her eyes.

Okay, so maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to drink all that coffee right before curfew. It was hard to resist, though, on a cold autumn night, the slightly burnt flavor mixed with just the right amount of sugar and cream. Sleeping was hard, now, and lying in bed, listening to her dormmates breathe rhythmically - in, out, in, out - was getting tiring. And if she was given too much free time, her mind would over-analyze every interaction she had that day. She wasn’t any good at magic, just terribly mediocre, unless you counted charms, which most Slytherins didn’t. She snuck out of her warm four poster, shivering slightly, draping a bomber jacket over her white cotton tee. She tucked a book under her arm, and slipped on a pair of moccasins. She make a snap decision to head up to the astronomy tower. It would be pretty there, on a cold, clear night like this.
She padded softly up the winding staircase, slightly panting. This better be worth it, she told herself. Exercise wasn’t her strong suit either. She hated flying, and she couldn’t run if her life depended on it. She usually never took risks, either, so coming up here after curfew was a bit out of character for her. When she reached the top of the tower, she was surprised to see that someone had already set up camp. Bella Zabini was a year ahead of her, also in Slytherin, and she was half-black as well, though she didn’t look it. Nero realized, as her heart stopped, that Bella’s legs were hanging all the side of the rail. She held in a gasp. She didn’t want the resident badass to think that she was some weakling. She stepped quietly over to the girl, not wanting to scare her and send her over the edge. “Evening,
” she whispered. Nero, of course, would do anything to look cool, especially in front of a popular (read: bitchy) girl. So she swallowed her extreme fear of heights, and sat next to Bella. Don’t look down, she told herself. Don’t look down. But of course she did, and her head spun with nausea. She saw the courtyard below them, and couldn’t stop a vision of her brains smeared across those rocks. But she couldn’t pussy out now. Trying to look as normal as possible, as unaffected by her fear, she said casually “ Did you have trouble sleeping as well?” Fluffing her dark brown hair, she looked at Bella. She was the type of girl who lived a life everyone deemed perfect. Nero suspected, however, that this was not the case if she was hanging out on the astronomy tower, by herself, at this time of the night. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bella wasn’t sure how most people viewed her, she had her moments were she would just out loud yell at someone if they were in her way. Though other times she was attempted to be nice, in words she was defiantly just like her mother, and was true to the Slytherin house. She breathed in the fresh air and the surrounding for her was so real. Of course the Slytherin girl knew if she made one wrong move she would be falling straight down to the ground beneath her and the chance of survival was slim. Bella always laughed at danger, she remembered when she was little how much trouble she got in when she would wonder off into the forest behind her home. She wouldn’t be seen for days back then. Though, she found it to be the best days of her life. She sighed a little she knew why she was having bad dreams, it was back from that night with the werewolf. “Ugh stupid dreams, seriously any other time I would have been fine.” She whispered to herself, trying not sound like she was crazy. Bella ran her fingers through her hair getting out all the tangles she had from bed head.
She heard the footsteps come into the tower, and then a girl’s voice spoke to her. She kind of knew the voice; it was from a 6th year in Slytherin house. “Evening.” She said moving over to where the girl sit down next to her. Bella smiled a little liking that there was a girl from her own house to accompany her. Most girls in their house tried to look up to Belle because of how she was; she got away with a lot. Never served detention in her life or got into trouble. Though for Bella it was easy to cause trouble and stay out of it. “Yeah, I couldn’t sleep so I figured it would be nice to get some fresh air and see the stars. What about you?” She asked the younger girl. Bella had a feeling this girl was having issues being up so high and sitting at the edge of the window. “You know the best thing about sitting here isn’t looking down… but up at the sky. It wipes all fear away from you and calms your nerves.” Belle added after a moment, hoping any advice for the younger girl would help out. “Kind of random… but I don’t think I know your name… I am Bella.” She spoke after a few moments of silence.

The height she was at made her extremely dizzy, but she felt oddly removed from her body, like she had been scooped out of it. She wiggled her shoes in her shoes experimentally, and her heert jolted when one of them nearly slipped off her foot entirely. She was struck by pure fear for a few moments - these were expensive shoes, after all, and just one would be useless - but she gathered her wits about her quickly. Glancing over to Bella, who surely thought she was a immature fool, she pulled out her wand out of her jacket pocket. It was really lucky that she had decided to bring it, or she would have lost her shoe, well, maybe not forever, as there was not a gaping abyss underneath her, but probably until tomorrow. “Accio,
” she whispered, and both shoes zoomed toward her, and she placed them gently on the solid floor behind them. The air was cold on her feet, but she recklessly swung her legs, liking the way the breeze hit them. “ Um. Yeah. A little too much caffeine in my system, you know. I’m like addicted to coffee.” She gave the older girl a bashful smile. “ Are you sure you’re okay? You look a little distant.” Nero had always been able to sense and identify people’s feelings easily, she seemed wistful, like she was stuck in the past. But she took the older girls suggestion in stride, and looked up at the night sky, sparkling with stars. She again felt dizzy, but not in a sick way, more like the feeling you get when you look out onto the ocean, realizing how infinitesimally small you are, how insignificant you and your troubles are compared to the sheer size of the universe. It was humbling, all right, but it was also relaxing, and she could feel her mind widening to new dimensions. She was drawn from her thoughts by Bella’s voice. “ I’m Nero Thomas,” she said, turned her head toward the other girl so that her curls fell down her shoulder. “ It’s a weird name, my parents must hate me.” In fact, she loved her name, the simplicity, the antiquity, and the power. “ I know who you are,” she blurted out, sounding like a total dork. “ It’s nice to formally meet you. I’ve heard a lot,” she said, flatteringly. “ All good, of course.” [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bella really loved danger, she knew how far it was to fall out of the window and yet she knew that she could fall to her death out there and no one would really say why she would fall. She watched as Nero’s shoe fell down to the ground. Belle played with her hair twirling it between her fingers as she watched the girl’s shoe return to her. Some thought this slytherin girl was pretty insane for how she acted. She knew too well her mental state at this moment wasn’t the thing she needed to worry about. Bella moved one of her feet to the ledge looking down at the dark ground below her brown hair fell to the side of her neck as looked down on the before moon lite canvas. She always thought of life as some horrific beauty scene. “Coffee is always good thing. At least you were still awake. I don’t think I could stand being out her alone.” She said with a laugh. Bella loved to have company even at times were she was sad and wanted to be alone. It was the simple fact she had a life she wanted to take care of and a younger sibling that she watched out for of course. “I guess so… It’s just something complicated I guess. Horrible dreams lately” She said softly. She hated the fact of night mares it came back on the night she helped murder a boy. She was starting to feel regret with it. Something she never felt before till that night was over with. “Can you keep a secret, just between you and me ok?” She asked the younger girl. Bella wanted to trust at least one person in her house and she hoped that by telling someone she could get rid of the nightmares. Belle shook her head trying to get rid of that night’s event.
She smiled at the girl as she introduce herself as Nero the name fluttered to her mind as she remembered seeing her in the commons area with other girls and boys her age. Bella knew her popularity rein for the Slytherin house was well known, she felt bad because she never really knew anyone’s name before unless they were in her year or they hung around her friends like Addison. Well she could say she knew all of Addison’s love interests and his friends only because she hung around their charming prefect. “Nero is such an awesome name! ugh I wish had a unique name like that instead of Bella. Ick.” She said with a laugh. She really found her name beautiful but she wishes she had a unique name. “Yeah I kind of figured that. Hey its cool though I don’t mind people knowing who I am. Makes my life entertaining .” Belle said with a charming smile. She really heard every catty remark that every girl had to say about her. As well as the whole rumors that they spread about her. “Well that’s good to hear honestly considering how most girls are in our house.” She said softly. It was the fact that Bella really didn’t try and judge people by who they were, and she was trying to get over her whole issues with none pure bloods. She decided to have an open mind for the most part.

Her heart still thudding from her shoe’s drop, she tilted her head backward a bit and tried to relax. She was still amped up from the caffeine she had earlier, and she felt hyper-alert, every breath of wind almost painful on her skin. Her vision was obviously impaired by the dark of the night, but she could still make out the general shapes of the objects around her. Her hearing seemed like it was kicked into overdrive as well, Bella’s voice sounded slightly too loud for a quiet night. The older girl’s words were ominous, and Nero was confused by them. She had never been one for deep thinking, and Bella seemed very contemplative about something. “Horrible dreams?
” Nero had never been the teen-angsty type, so she couldn’t relate. “ Can I ask what you mean?” She swung her legs against the outer wall of the astronomy tower. “ Of course I can keep a secret.” Nero would do anything to be liked, and being trustworthy was important. She was also a bit concerned for the girl who was shaking her head as if she was trying to rid water from her ears. She felt the familiar tingle of happiness as Bella smiled at her. “ Well, it’s a pleasure to formally meet you, Bella,” she said, nudging her girl with her shoulder. Her friends were going to flip when she told them that she had befriended Bella Zabini. She was popular, but she didn’t seem to care about it much at all. Effortlessly liked. Nero wished she could be like that, not trying too hard, but she knew that she would always be the follower instead of the leader. “ I’m glad you think it’s awesome.” She giggled slightly. “ Bella is a really pretty name.” How old was she, twelve? She wished that she had something more intelligent and interesting to say, but the hour seemed to have turned her brain off, even if caffeine kept her eyes wide. Nero was insanely jealous of Bella if having her name on everyone’s lips was just entertaining for her. “ Even if they say mean things, they really admire you.” Nero would know. She had heard the words from the bitchiest girl in school herself, but she knew that girl was desperately trying to be like Bella, copying her casual walk, even the type of quills she used. “ Anyway, what’s bothering you? I won’t tell a soul, I promise.” She looked into Bella’s blue eyes earnestly, hoping that she would deem her trustworthy enough to confide in. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Or rather for her people didn’t quit understand the Slytherin females mind at times. She was complex and really was a deep thinker. For the stuff she saw she knew it had to relate back to something, at least she hoped that was the case. Of course Belle knew that most every girl wanted to be like her, for her though it was something stupid. Popularity was an act of being the prettiest girl among the masses. Though, Bella found it to be entertaining that she was even known. She heard the girl speak asking her what she meant by horrible dreams. “Um… well like nightmares… Visions? Both I guess really….” She said with kind of a laugh. She really had an issue with explaining things to people. She wasn’t a seer but she was having memories come back to her because of something stupid she did. When the girl said she would keep a secret. It was a nice thing to hear for the older slytherin girl. “That’s refreshing to hear really. I don’t trust many people but something tells me I can trust you with this secret.” She said softly. It sounded kind of cheesy coming from her but there was no way Bella could tell anyone about what she did a few weeks ago.
Her smiled brightened as the girl spoke more about being a pleasure to meet her formally. She had to admit Nero was becoming the type of friend that Bella really wanted. “You try to much… I’ve noticed that. Nero just relax Hun I am just a normal witch just like you or anyone else in our house. And I consider you totally one of my friends!” She said happily to Nero. She really was an observer of people, kind of a gift she had to relax around people and figure them out. Though, of course she knew that most people didn’t like when she made their worse quality noticeable. “Sorry I kind of do that to people a lot.” Belle said sounding empathic to the girl. But of course she just didn’t like people thinking of her more of this girl of legends but as a normal witch just like the rest of them. “Thanks you can call me Belle if you like. I don’t mind I go by both really.” She said laughing a little knowing that it was kind of dorky to say that but she figured Nero was going to be her new friend she’d treat her like a good friend. Her three best friends that she had didn’t always understand how her own mind worked. “Alright, again I am so glad I can trust you with this. It’s pretty big… and well could potentially get me kicked out of school.” She said softly looking down towards the ground. “So a few weeks ago, I met this boy… a gryffindor boy and he was using well… magic to kill this other gryffindor boy… and I kind of sort of… helped him along with the murder of the boy.” She said quietly. She had a little feeling at the pit of her stomach. “I know it’s bad thing to actually admit. At the time it felt so amazing helping out… now it’s like hell for me and I feel so stupid to help out.” Bella added after a moment. She looked to Nero awaiting a response from her. |

It was sad, really, but Bella was everything that Nero wanted to be. Secure in her position and utterly un-concerned by how well she was liked, she was effortless. She had good, real friends too, and lots of boys were interested in her, even though she seemed unaffected by all the attention. It was quite disturbing that she was having nightmares, or bad visions. Sure, they went to a magical school, but that sort of thing was insane asylum material, almost. Nero rarely had nightmares, and not too many dreams, either. When she did, and she could remember them, they were just shiny, slippery copies of her everyday life, as unexciting as it was. "That's... bad,
" she said falteringly, looking up into the stars. She wasn't really sure how to comfort Bella, or if she was even supposed to. It wasn't like the seventh year was crying or anything, she just seemed tired but unable to sleep. Was she scared of being haunted by the visions in the night? It was kind of terrifying. Nero felt a glow spread across her cheeks and down her neck when Bella said she could trust her. She really wasn't going to tell anyone, and she liked that Bella believed her. " Don't worry about that, I'm always ridiculously cheesy," she remarked with a soft laugh. And it was true. Everything Nero said seemed to be platitudes or cliches, and it was rather embarrassing. She just found it hard to speak with exactness what she was really feeling because she felt the need to make to agreeable to the person she was talking to. That's why she didn't want to see anyone professional for her little problem. She sighed. It was little now, and no one really knew about it, but it was growing, and fast. Soon she wouldn't just be stealing paperclips and candy, but jewelry and papers. It wasn't like she could help it, it was just compulsive, but if she couldn't curb her growing habit soon, she would surely get in a ton of trouble. The glow abruptly faded when Bella noted that Nero tried too hard. It was true, of course, Bella was rather infamous for pointing out people's weaknesses, albeit kindly. " I know, but I really do respect and like you. It's not a problem." She was used to her "friends" ragging on her all the time, because she didn't stand up to their jibes, but it was refreshing to be with someone that apologized. Nevertheless, she leaned in when Bella said she could get kicked out of school for her secret. Well, that was a bit ominous. Not many people were expelled from Hogwarts, but it was rumored the Tristan Avery was going to be ever since he attacked that poor Ravenclaw girl, making her deaf. When Bella first started her tale, Nero couldn't believe what she was hearing. Bella murdered someone? But she seemed so sweet! " Oh my goodness, Nero said, shocked. " That is rather serious, isn't it. I'm sorry I can't help you, I don't have much expertise in that field." She returned her gaze to her feet. She guessed that anyone really could be a murder if Bella Zabini could. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

TAGGED: Nero Thomas WORDS:787- NOTES: Sorry took so long. But awesome post for ya! [atrb=border,0,true] [/style] | [style=-moz-border-radius: 0px 10px 0px 0px; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 10px 0px 0px; width: 325px; height: 265px; background-image:url('http://www.webdesignideas.org/images/bg2a.gif');][style=-moz-border-radius: 0px 10px 0px 0px; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 10px 0px 0px; width: 325px; height: 265px; overflow: auto; background-color: d3ace2 ; opacity: .7; text-align: justify; line-height: 90%; font-family: tahoma; font-size:8px; color: 000;][style=text-align: justify; line-height: 90%; font-family: tahoma; font-size:10px; color: 000; padding: 4px] Bella didn’t know what she was going to do with herself. The normal calm side of her had vanished into who knew what and it seemed like her life was starting to crash before her eyes. She though knew she had to keep her head high for the last year of Hogwarts and then she could just travel the world. She knew at least she had a friend or two that was going to be there for her in the end. No matter what the ruling was with her nightmares. Maybe it was all in Belle’s head that she was making everything up. She shook her head not actually realizing what she was doing in reality. She heard Nero’s voice when she wasn’t sure what to really say about it. “it is…” she said softly. She brushed her bangs away from her eyes. It was time for her to actually change her identity a little with cutting her hair. “I am glad I could just talk to some outside of the little inner group of Slytherin. I am starting to feel they are becoming annoying at times. Always talking about boys or hair. It’s so ugh sometimes.” She said with a laugh. She was starting to feel better just with hanging out with Nero. It was like a new beginning starting for the older female.
She smiled as Nero said she was kind of cheesy about it. Belle shook her head disagreeing with what the younger slytherin had to say about it. “So not cheesy! It’s refreshing really; I am so use to the girls who are bitches about everything. A little cliché is refreshing and besides cheesy is what you make of it. I am cheesy ‘cause I am that gorgeous girl in her last year of course who’s popular and perky.” She said laughing. She made fun of her popularness all the time. For her it was fun to do something unusual, and it was also why some girls hated her because she was unpredictable and they loved structure in their house. She was structured, even though she came from a pretty well off wizard family. She swayed her feet in the chilling wind. It was starting to become comforting being outside away from it all. Of course she knew eventually she was going to have to face the music when they look at what happened in the towers. Bella figured they would find out it was the werewolf and punish him. Only because she only had struck him once with magic. Since that tragic day she had been on edge on wits end with everything. She had been ditching classes and relaxing by the lake and taking her mind off things.
She looked over to Nero after she spoke noticing the glow from her face faded. It was commonly known that she pointed out flaws and weakness in every one. “Helps any Nero I could tell you a bunch of things about me you’d probably never believe. Like when I started here as a first year, there were these girls who were in their third year rulers of the school. I would do anything to try and get in their little click. I even got myself put in to detention after they pulled a massive prank on the school. I was never involved with their prank. And that’s kind of how I became popular because I did what they told me to… I am glad you respect me though. It means a lot.” She said leaning over and hugging Nero. She hadn’t done something like that in a while. “hey I figure this if someone tries too hard it’s always a good thing. It means you care.” She added after a moment. When the silence after her little tale was broken, she knew Nero probably couldn’t help her with the issue. Belle didn’t know of any one really getting expelled from school, it was almost impossible. She knew if she fessed up to a part of the murder then she may get off with detention for the remaining bit of her year there at Hogwarts. That’s what she was hoping for at least. “It’s ok; I know you can’t help me. But it’s just nice to actually tell something what went on that night. Just please don’t tell anyone that I help murder someone at school. I am not sure how to tell the headmaster yet. It’s kind of a fear what will actually happen.” She said softly. She really did fear for the worse of things. Though, Bella knew the one thing, the headmaster was calm and understanding. Just for this serve incident she wasn’t sure on how well he would take it.
