Romeo felt like shit, there was no other word that suited. He didn't want to speak to anyone, especially the familiar blonde that had crushed him. It had stripped him of all his positiveness and left him with bitterness. He had felt that bitterness since he had been turned back in Sicily but he had found a way to tame it. Everybody around him thought he was a little kid because of him being so cute and he hated them. He wanted to make them feel like he felt but he doubted anybody could. Romeo felt that he couldn't head down to the Great Hall and see all the familiar imbeciles. Instead he threw on a patterned muggle jumper and a pair of jeans and he made his way to the lake. He wanted to punch someone or something but he wasn't a violent person.
Romeo wasn't sure what love was anymore. He had always thought he had felt it for Tori but he wasn't sure. Perhaps he had just made a fool out of himself over misinterpreted feelings. He was such an idiot. He looked up at the lake and he longed for the past. It had meant something to him to be able to wake up every morning with a smile. He was going to rot with nothing but sweet memories. Romeo was after all a Vampire and he'd discovered that it had ruined his entire life. He would never have been able to try a relationship with Alexis and his vision of him and Tori, together forever had been destroyed. Even his parents hated him for what he was and if he hadn't been turned he would've been in Sicily at that moment. He would've been living the high life instead of living with his foolish uncle.
He heard someone and he turned his head slightly. He just wanted to cry and at that point he didn't care who it was, he just wanted to be comforted.

of course, this november proved to be colder than the last, and as nicole left the ravenclaw tower, she could already feel its cold fingers brush against her exposed arms. her brother's sweater lay across her arms and she soon shrugged it on, the warmth of the material spreading through her being. nikki sighed and made her way into the hallway, taking her time away from the common room. being in the same house as her twin brother who was constantly attempting to either one up her, or ignore her, it got exhausting quickly. heading for the grounds to clear her mind seemed like the best idea, and so that was where she was headed.
soft mouse brown hair was pulled up into a loose ponytail hung over her shoulder, her sweater tucked around her much like a blanket. nicole's blue green eyes were startled when she saw a shape much like her own darting towards the lake. he seemed almost familiar, but being in a school were your house proved to be your only friends, and your twin did nothing but attempt to wreck that, it became clear that nicole would befriend anyone who could stand her long enough. curiosity getting the better of her, the second half of the acosta twins headed towards the lake, intent on finding out who this person was - without giving off that muggle stalker vibe.
as she got closer, nicole was somewhat startled to see that it was romeo valentine; a sure accomplice of the ever so infamous tori abercrombie. was it just her or was that girl getting a new boy toy every week? "romeo?" how nicole knew his name she'll never know, but for now, she'd let it slip. "er, are you okay?" nicole was generally a kind and comforting soul, as her mother would say "wise beyond her years". but she was in no means a smart witch. she was just ... caring. unbelievably caring.

Romeo heard the voice and he instantly recognized it belonged to a female. He sat down beside the lake carelessly and he kept his gaze upon the lake. He didn't want to look at her but he forced himself to. She was Nicole Acosta and gosh, she was pretty. It was idiotic of him to keep thinking the way he was. Was he that desperate that he went after any girl that paid any attention to him? He tried to force such thoughts of her out of his head. "Hey," he frowned. "You know, I'm not even sure how I feel anymore."
Romeo wished that he had never met Tori Abercrombie. Perhaps if he hadn't he'd remember what love was like. He hadn't felt love since he was in Sicily, and they had crushed him just like Tori. He was definitely a broken man. His life seemed like it was one disaster after the next and he hated himself for it. He felt a few tears escape his eyes and it made him feel so stupid. He was overreacting to something that would've never happened. Where was his positiveness when he needed it?
"I'm so stupid," he mumbled, glancing at her with tears rolling down his cheeks. She was probably like all the rest, seeing him as a little kid. He wished he could stop himself from crying but he just couldn't.

nicole's face fell when he said he wasn't sure how he felt; that was an odd thing to say. didn't everyone have some sense of what they were feeling? she approached the hufflepuff and stood by him, not sure how to actually tackle the subject. "don't say stuff like that," nicole said quietly, looking over at him. she had seen him in the hallway and romeo was just ... different. a good, refreshing different. nicole was muggleborn and even though there was already a large amount of 'different' people here attending Hogwarts... romeo was just different. she moved closer to him, and when she heard the word 'stupid' leave his mouth, she frowned at him.
nicole hated it when people called themselves stupid - no one was truly stupid and some part of her felt terrible when people called themselves that silly word. she assumed it eas because of how she was raised; having a twin brother that really pushed her buttons the wrong ways sometimes. "romeo, you're not stupid. here, tell me what's up. i know there's something bothering you," bold, nicole sat beside romeo and offered him a listening ear. that was who she was. whether you were a complete stranger or one of her close friends, she would always be there to listen to you. "so... tell me what's going on." nicole finished, looking at romeo with her hazel olive eyes.
she had heard rumors that he was a vampire, and even though he was a few years younger than she was, she didn't care. besides, he wasn't luring her in to bite her... was he? 'nicole don't get flighty now, he needs help!' her mind scolded her, as she stood her ground beside him.
