The cots weren't the most comfortable thing in this school, that was certain. These so called 'beds' were a thing you had to get used to over a period of time. With Cordelia being an agressive Quidditch player and one of the Beaters, she had been injured numerous times that she was one of the students that have gotten used to the thin mattressed cots. She lost track of how many times she'd been sent to the Hospital Wing that her and the Hogwarts nurse knew each other clearly. Today, Cordelia had jammed her toes after landing on the ground to quickly at a fast pace. It had been a pain to walk all the way to the Hospital Wing, but nobody was near by at the time to run for someone to help her. She liked to fly around by herself more these days trying to perfect certain skills she thought needed perfecting on. It took all of her will power not to cry as she began to walk. It was her own damn fault she was being careless, so she knew that she wans't going to ask for help. Besides, Cordelia was always the one to help others, not the other way around. She felt selfish asking for help. When she did arrive at the Hospital Wing, Cordelia couldn't stand it any longer. The tears burst down her cheeks and Madam Pomfrey rushed to her side helping her into that ever so lovely cot Cordelia was just so fond of. Lying down while Madam Pomfrey rushed around to help the others students quickly, Cordelia tried to pull herself together.
Wiping the tears from her face, Cordelia took deep breaths and soon she didn't feel like she was about to hyperventilate. Crying wasn't exactly her thing and when she did cry, Cordelia could hardly breath, resulting in hyperventilating. Perhaps if she didn't feel the need to not show any weakness, Cordelia wouldn't have to suffer from the lack of air when she did break down like this. Madam Pomfrey was at her side once again and Cordelia smiled. This woman was at her last years surely since she was getting way too old, but she was such a great nurse that Cordelia couldn't image anybody else. She was kind yet stern when she needed order. Telling the nurse that she had stubbed her toes on both feet, Madam Pomfrey went into that mode she always had when given a task. Within five - ten minutes, Cordelia's toes were back to normal and she could go back to doing whatever she pleased, as long as she was more careful with what she was doing since her toes would be a bit sensitive for the next hour. Walking out of the Hospital Wing, Cordelia began to walk towards the Hufflepuff common room so she could take a nap. She was exhausted from the last half hour.
When she arrived at the many staircases that led to different floors and corridors, Cordelia came across the a staircase that wold lead her to the ground floor that would lead her to her destination. Waiting for the staircase to move so she could walk down it, Cordelia stood there, eyes glazed over in thought. How had she even made a stupid mistake like that? Cordelia decided to blame it on the weather outside. It had just rained this morning and the ground was wet and the air was still very windy. That was still no excuse since Cordelia had been in all sorts of nasty weather. It was a fluke, that's all. She needed to let it go, but she knew she wouldn't be able to since she was one more year away from Quidditch scouts coming to watch her. Just the thought of that made her squirm in excitement and nervousness. Refocusing her eyes, Cordelia noticed that the stairs had begun to move from the spot she needed them to be in. Crying out in anger, Cordelia scowled as she had to wait for the staircase to move back to the spot she was standing in. She wasn't about to take a complicated way just to get to the ground floor.

It was not a good day. The first Quidditch match of the year had finally been announced, Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw. She was having a tough time deciding whether this was auspicious or not. Sure, it would buy her time to get the Hufflepuff team whipped into shape, but it probably meant that the team that they eventually played against would already have their confidence boosted by a win. It was true, Hufflepuff did live up to their reputation for being miserably uncompetitive and rather un-athletic. She strutted into the Great Hall, her hair messy from flying around in the stormy November weather. Practices by herself were lame, but the rest of the Hufflepuff team was terribly unmotivated, knowing that they still had a few weeks to kill before they had to perform. Lily was extremely worried. She wanted to be a professional Quidditch player, perhaps on the Holyhead Harpies, but with the record that her team had, it was going to be near impossible. Last place in the Quidditch Cup and everything, it was terrible.
There was one player on the team, though, that always tried her hardest, pushing herself during every practice. Cordelia Wood was Lily’s favorite, and she treated her like a teacher might a star pupil. Cordelia was a good beater to begin with, but she had perseverance that Lily admired. It made her want to continue when she felt like giving up on the team and just focusing on her NEWTs, as they were crawling closer and closer. She walked toward the stairs, hoping to catch Beau somewhere. She missed him a lot, even though they weren’t formally together and they hadn’t really seen each other since the Halloween Ball. And there was no way she was going to owl him or something, so she had taken to wandering around the school, under the pretense of “prefect duties” whenever she had a spare moment. Looking for him, perhaps sneak in a conversation, now that he was back.
Or, perhaps she would go look for her twin in the Slytherin tower. Lily remembered that they used to be really close before they got to Hogwarts and were sorted into different houses. Then her sister decided that she was much, much better than Lily could ever be. It didn’t really make her angry, just sad, that they didn’t even talk anymore. Twins, especially identical ones, were supposed to have connected minds, but her twin felt like the only person in the castle she couldn’t empathize with. Hufflepuffs were supposed to love and tolerate the shit out of you, and Lily did just that. She stood on the magical stairs, waiting for the necessary section to whisk her away to the first floor, where she would prowl around, before heading down to the Hufflepuff common room to get some studying done. She saw a blonde head, and shook herself out of her Beau-thoughts. It was Cordelia, and she looked very upset, frustrated. Bumping into someone you wanted to talk to was awkward, especially when you wanted to go up and they seemed to want to go down. But, Lillian wasn’t going to let her cry. “What’s up?
” she asked gently, slinging her arm over Cora’s shoulders. [/blockquote] ooc; fail. the next one will be better, promise[/blockquote]

Cordelia stood there with the scowl planted on her face. All she wanted was a nap. It had been a long week and with what just happened, Cordelia was ready to sleep it all away. She was very happy she wasn’t a Ravenclaw because Cordelia could never bury her worries and fears away in books. Sleep had to be the greatest thing to push aside everything. The term ‘sleep on it’ was exactly what Cordelia did. Sighing, Cordelia refocused her eyes once more and saw that the staircase was back at her feet again. Seizing the chance to walk down them, Cordelia took once step forwards before she saw a familiar face walking up the stairs she was about to descend. Placing her foot back on the ground, Lillian Carmichael walked up to her with concern on her face. Wrapping her arm around Cordelia’s shoulders, she asked what was up. Lilly was a kind-hearted person and she was also the Hufflepuff captain. Like Cordelia, Lilly pursued a professional career in Quidditch. They were one of the hardest workers on the field and she knew that Lilly would make a team one day like Cordelia would. She was hoping to get on Puddlemore United like her father did one day, but she was still open to thoughts even though she had her mind set on that team. She didn’t have an shoes to fill in since she was a Beater, but her father was a fantastic Keeper and just his name would mean she had to live up to him.
Shaking her head to Lilly, Cordelia wasn’t sure where to start! ”I’m just tired. It’s been a long week and I need a hell of a nap right now.” Cordelia answered to the seventh year. She didn't want to burden her worries and frustrations on Lilly right now since she already did that on the pitch too much these days, but she was moody these days. She blamed it on the time of the month. Why women had to go through that, Cordelia had no idea. Trying to ignore the mood swings she was going through, Cordelia forced a smile onto her face to try to convince Lilly she would survive. "But that's besides the point. Are you looking for someone?" Cordelia asked her teammate. She couldn't wait for the first Quidditch game to arrive. Granted Gryffindor was one of the most successful teams in the school next to Slytherin, but Cordelia liked to see her competition before playing against them. It gave her a false sense of hope that she knew their plays and who their better players were so she could knock them out.
Perhaps she was looking for her boyfriend. Beau Weasley was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team and he was the Keeper. Cordelia had to wonder if it was ever weird scoring on your own boyfriend. Surely it must be just an on the field rivalry since they were dating after all. ooc: argh. i lost muse towards the end...

Cordelia was usually sweet, and happy, and Lillian was unused to seeing her so upset. She liked to take care of people, and make them feel better, but it was important that they tell her what was wrong. She wasn’t a mind reader, although she was rather sensitive to people’s emotions. Lily had noticed a change in Delia’s behavior recently, more moody than usual. But always reluctant to tell her what was going. Maybe it was a boy thing. She sighed. Relationships were the number one distraction from good athletics, she knew too many girls who were talented but thought that if they were strong, boys wouldn’t think they were cute. Cordelia never shared things really about her private life, so Lily didn’t really know. They were close friends, but they had more of a mentor/student relationship than giggling girlfriends. But Lily wouldn’t mind that changing, Cordelia was a friend that you could count on, and that was why she felt so bad that the younger girl wasn’t feeling well.
Oh okay. So Cordelia was heading down to the dormitory. Lily should probably be a good team captain and walk her down there, but that would mean giving up looking for Beau. She would have to reconcile herself to that, though. Even if she did find him, what would that do for her? Maybe they would flirt, arrange to meet more formally next time. But she couldn’t just abandon her star player when the season was just starting up! She was torn, and she shifted from foot to foot, dropped her arm off Delia’s shoulder. “Want me to walk you down to the basement?
” She would feel so much guilt if she just let the younger girl go and heard of her passing out in some deserted corridor. This was her future she was talking about, if she didn’t have a decent team, the scouts wouldn’t even look at her. And Cordelia was one of the few that were decent on her team, and was also not one who deserved to die because of neglect. “ Looking for someone? No, not really.” She felt her blush rise to her cheeks. She wasn’t very good at lying, her sister was the master at that. She supposed that it had gotten around the Hufflepuff house that she was seeing Beau, even though they were not yet officially a couple, and at this rate, would never be. She turned around, dragging Cordelia with her. “ Come now, let’s get you to your bed before you faint.” The sixth year was certainly looking a bit shaky. She had half a mind to scoop her up, bridal style, and carry her down - she was surely capable of it, Delia looked as light as air - but that would be making a scene, and Lily supposed she should keep her head down a bit. And, if Cordelia really insisted, she would tell her how to pull Quidditch captains. [/blockquote] ooc; DD: I lied. sorry for the ridiculous wait[/blockquote]

Oh Lilly, always trying to help others out. She was a true Hufflepuff unlike Cordelia was. She was willing to give up her search for whomever she was looking for - most likely Beau, but there were many people in this castle one could be searching for besides their boyfriend - to help Cordelia reach her destination. Cordelia just hoped that the flooding crisis was being handled since walking through damp flooring and smelling the drying water wasn't something she particularly liked to go through. How did this flood even occur? Wasn't there supposed to be something to prevent this from happening, like a spell or charm? Cordelia was no genius, but she was ninety-eight percent sure there was some sort of spell that could prevent school's from flooding, magical schools at that. The arm that was around her shoulder dropped and Cordelia began to pick at her nails. She hated being the party-pooper and surely there was some sort of potion that could help her stay awake for a bit longer to help Lilly with her search.
As soon as Lilly blushed when she answered her question, Cordelia knew that she was lying. Giving her the knowing look, Cordelia let it go. She knew what Lilly was thinking right now and knew that Cordelia would do the same to help out Lilly if the roles were reversed. Of course Cordelia might have been a bit oblivious at first to the predicament, but that was besides the point. "Alight if you say so." Cordelia said in a sing-song voice. That was probably as normal as Cordelia would ever sound in the next half hour. Maybe it was all in her head. She did feel like her mind was playing tricks on her, but she still did want a nap since she felt exhausted from the days events. Maybe she'd let Lilly do her thing and then make sure to repay the favor sometime. Perhaps after a half hour nap, Cordelia would help Lilly with finding Beau. She was sure it was Beau by now. If Cordelia was dating Beau Weasley, she would certainly be looking for him. He was simply gorgeous! Those damn Weasley's being too attractive and distracting. Yes, they were distracting, mostly on the Pitch, but Cordelia has had practice to ignore their charm after a year of being on the team.
The seventh year took her arm and began to drag her down the stairs. It seemed that Lilly would take no for an answer so Cordelia let her. She awkwardly climbed down the stairs and desperately tried not to trip over her own feet. Coordination didn't come easily when she was tired, but she concentrated a bit too hard walking down the last flight of stairs before they would reach the ground floor. Cordelia had her tongue stuck out a bit with her nose scrunched up. She must've looked like a nutter, but Cordelia wasn't about to injure herself any further. When they were on the ground floor, Cordelia stopped and sighed. She made it! Things were looking up already. "Well, while we make our way to the common room, why don't you start by telling me who this someone is that you're looking for." Cordelia suggested while nudging her rescuer. "After all, it might take longer than usual since I've been walking so slow all day." Cordelia added with a slight smile. She would purposely walk slow now so she could see what Lilly motives were for today. She was too curious for her own good sometimes.

She was ready to get back down to the Common Room, in fact. Although she hoped to bumped into Beau, that could wait, and she had a couple Arithmancy problems to struggle through. Arithmancy was so not her best subject. No point really of taking it either, as Quidditch didn’t need those fancy, ancient numbers. The reason she did was so that she could feel superior to her twin, who was helpless in the class and had dropped it after only one year. It was good to be in the basement after a few days of sleeping in the Great Hall. It was fun, but it wasn’t home like the cozy underground tunnels were. It still smelled musty and some things were a bit out of place, but it was dry and warm as it was before. It seemed a bit silly, though. Weren’t those kinds of things supposed to be preventable with magic? Perhaps it was particularly powerful water. She stifled a giggle. It was probably just some mess up with the wards, anyway. Perhaps the administration didn’t take something into account, and that’s why it failed.
From the look that Cora gave her, Lily knew that she didn’t believe it. And the younger girl probably knew what was going on, judging from the sing-songy voice. Jokingly, Lily thought to herself that it wasn’t her fault that they were the power couple of Hogwarts. Both prefects, both NEWT scholars, both Quidditch captains. They were literally unstoppable. Unfortunately, first Lily had to find him. She consoled herself, knowing that he would turn up sometime. His family was going through a disaster, what with happened to Violet and all. The size of the family probably echoed and intensified their grief too, in a way, besides just being comforting. She wondered idly if Cora was attached. She was certainly pretty enough. Lily remembered that awkward time she came on to her but the girl didn’t seem to notice. As long as she wasn’t mocking her about it, she guessed it was okay.
She dragged Delia down the stairs, and she stopped resisting. The girl let her feet fall like a ragdoll, and they reached the last flight of stairs in no time, Lily panting slightly. She turned back, and giggled slightly at Cora’s face. Nose scrunched up and tongue sticking out, she looked like a baby trying not the stumble over the ground. “Aw, come on Cor. You know I won’t let you fall.
” She smiled slightly, and the finally reached the basements, corridors lit by bright, magical candles and the reflection on the marble floors. “ I told you I wasn’t looking for anyone?” She laughed. She was a terrible liar, she left that to her Slytherin twin. Her friends could see through her all the time, and even strangers picked up on it. So usually she was honest. “ Fine, I’ll tell you everything if you tell me your sexcapades. And don’t tell me you’re not having any.” She tapped the side of her head and gave her most knowing look. “ ’Cuz I know.” She grinned, and linked arms with Delia. Alright, she was going to play that game. Cordelia was going to let Lilly get away with not telling her who she was really looking for or what she was going to do before coming across her in her sleep deprived state. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. When she heard Lilly giggled, the face she was making as she was concentrating went away to be replaced by a look slight confusion. Her eyes were wide with her mouth slightly open. She often left her mouth hanging open when she didn't feel like thinking, but she tried to refrain from it since she didn't want to look stupid with her mouth hanging open all the time. When Cordelia realized that she must have been giggling at her face. Most people did since she made a lot of faces for different occasions and such. Cordelia wasn't one of those open books all the time, but she wasn't a blank slate either. She hated those kinds of people since she couldn't tell what they were thinking or feeling. They were boring and Cordelia didn't associate herself with most of those people since they didn't show any emotion.
"Oh! I'm just being overdramatic. But it's nice to know I won't fall flat on my face." Cordelia chuckled as she flipped her hair over her shoulders. She was starting to become fairly annoyed with her hair brushing against her face. She looked to her wrist and saw a thin black ponytail. Oh thank Merlin! Cordelia thought as she slipped the ponytail over her hand and began to pull her long blonde locks back into a ponytail. Once her hair was off her neck, she did feel the heat leave her face and felt much better as the cool air settled on her hot skin. She should probably get her hair cut soon. She was starting to see split ends when she examined her hair. Now that she thought of it, Cordelia wasn't sure when the last time she had her hair cut. Yet another thing to write to her mum about. She had a list of at least five things to tell her mum and dad about. One of them was Quidditch like always and the other would be to update the status of her younger siblings, and another one was something else...but it escaped her mind at the moment. Surely it would come back later. If she remembered correctly, she wrote it down somewhere on a piece of paper.
Finally they agreed on a compromise. Sexcapades? Cordelia never had a colorful vocabulary, but just the sound of it, Cordelia had an idea of what it meant. It was no secret Cordelia wasn't a virgin. She made that clear last year when she hooked up with at least five guys. She had toned it down and for once she hadn't paid much attention to many of the guys this year. Perhaps she was getting bored with them. Surely there was one guy out there Cordelia could be serious with. She wasn't really serious with anything else. Jealous wasn't really the word to describe Cordelia, and she wasn't that girl who needed a boyfriend because she was single. "Uhh..." Cordelia started off with. What a great start to their compromise. There was someone though...naw, Cordelia wasn't even sure if it'd work. They only had spoken a few times before. Mostly because he wasn't a flyer and he was in another house. "Well, I'll admit I haven't had a sexcapade since last year, but I do have my eye on someone." Cordelia said as she nudged Lily lightly. Cordelia decided to keep Lily guessing to build up the suspense. Everybody liked a good suspense moment.

Cordelia really did have a bad habit of making faces, Lily realized. It was relatively easy for her, who picked up on people’s emotions quickly, to recognize what Cora felt. It wasn’t as if the girl was expressing every emotion that she had into a facial expression, but she wasn’t constantly guarded, with a stony expression. Lily was disquieted by people like that. It was natural to smile and frown and laugh as you felt the urge, not as you felt would help you win over someone. Slytherins were particularly guilty of this, she recognized. Hufflepuffs, for the most part, didn’t need extensive uncoding because chances are, if you asked them what was wrong, they would tell you in a heart beat. There was not a lot of deceit or secrets in the house, and it felt healthy. Too bad that didn’t translate into a bad-ass Quidditch team. Seriously, if last year was any indication, they were going to come in dead last.
Lily giggled at Cora’s self-deprecating comment, and said “You know I’d never let you fall,
” twirling in a lazy circle with a hand over her heart. Who was being over-dramatic now? Lily watched as the blond pulled her hair up off the back of her neck with a hairtie, and was relieved to see that she looked much more comfortable. “ My, how sporty you look,” she joked. Lily was definitely not a girly girl, and dressed pretty preppily during civie’s days. However, she was blessed with the long, wavy and shiny Indian hair, and she did her best to flaunt it. It was her best physical asset, she decided. Well, besides her athletic body that actually did something for her. Hair was supposed to attract a mate, but look how well that was going for her. Terribly. Sometimes it seemed that Beau wouldn’t even pay attention to her if she just outright flashed her tits. If Lily remembered correctly, Cora had been with a lot of guys last year, but this year she hadn’t been quite so wild. The captain hoped that it was because she was busy training for Quidditch, or even studying harder. But maybe she would get some juicy gossip out of this. Not that she would ever dish any dirt on anyone, especially a teammate, but it was always good to be in the loop. Lily carefully collected information on her classmates, not necessarily for blackmail, but to feel closer with them. Friendship was built on trust, after all, and it was the ultimate sign of trust to share something intimate. If Cora had asked a little more, Lily would have probably spilled about Beau anyway, but it was nice to get something out of it as well. “ So,” she began, exhaling, telling herself not to loose her nerve. “ I might have a thing for Beau Weasley.” She twisted her hair on her finger and looked at Delia. She was the first person to know about her infatuation, and while it felt good to tell someone, she was worried that Cordelia might berate her choice. And that would be embarassing. “ So are you going to tell me this kid’s name or what?” she asked, nudging gently back. “ I kinda sorta want to know everything.” She wondered of Cordelia was just trying to keep the suspense, or if she was a bit worried that Lily would judge her taste in men. If it was the latter, Cora should be assured that the only reason that Lily would express any sort of disapproval was if it was a guy she used to see, although even than she would probably sent her off with her blessing. Her hair was finally out of her face and Cordelia hoped that maybe her hair was posing the problem. She knew that that was pretty much next to impossible, but her hair was thick - thus the layers - and something felt extremely heavy on days Cordelia was feeling overwhelmed or frustrated. She was glad she always had a few ponytails on her wrist at all times. She looked down to her wrist and saw the pink and yellow ponytails that had been put to use many times before now. Cordelia gave a small smile while fluffing her hair. "It looks even better with a broom in my hand. I can be quite the badass ya know." Cordelia replied with a half smile as she tried to keep the mood up. She was mostly trying to direct the conversation away from the certain boy Cordelia had let slip up. Damn her lack of sleep for letting her brain decide to do such a thing. He was clearly into those Slytherin girls. It always seemed the Ravenclaw boys went for the Slytherins girls these days. It's not like she would have a shot with him anyways, so she might as well spill the beans since it was no use to worry about him finding out. It would matter to him.
Another distraction! Beau Weasley? Now that man was sexy. He had the wavy hair, the ruggedness about him and he played Quidditch. "Wow girl! You sure know how to pick your men!" Cordelia said with wide-eyes in fascination. "That man has it all. When did this start?" Cordelia added wondering. Cordelia had known from other Gryffindors that these two had something, but Cordelia never actually saw them together. Well, in a couple way at least. Cordelia was skeptical about the rumor - turned trumor - so she just let it be. As soon as Lilly admitted who she had a thing for, Cordelia knew that she would need to return the favor. It was like a girl code that both the girls reveal a secret if the other one does first. Well, in Cordelia's girl code that was the situation. But where to start? Should she start off when she started to see him in that way? Or just flat out say the name and find out her reaction. Cordelia always lead up with a lamely told story, so she might as well give her a few background details.
"Well, since you told me, I'll tell you who I was talking about since you need to know everything." Cordelia began as she shot Lilly one of her pretend glares. "So I was out on the Quidditch Pitch enjoying the day and Van Acosta comes flying over to me. He had to go through with the bet he lost and I flew with him and we actually had a conversation and...stuff." Cordelia ended lamely. She should've just said the name. Too late now, it was out and Cordelia was used to people saying she was a bad story teller. She just had terrible endings to stories, that's all.

Sticking out her tongue at Delia, Lily responded, “Like I haven’t seen that before.
” In fact, Lily probably saw Delia more with her broom than without. They both pursued a very similar dream of becoming a professional Quidditch player. And they both tried harder and trained harder than the rest of the time combined. She had been secretly planning to make Delia co-captain of the team for a while now, but she wanted to do it after their first game - which they would definitely win - for dramatic effect. With Delia by her side, her impossible goal of winning the Quidditch Cup seemed less blurred, definitely more attainable. And perhaps they would become better friends in the process. Lily was friendly, but her friends tended to be boys, and most of her female friends had graduated last June. She could do with a friend that had interests in the same field - haha - as her. “ I’m sorry, but I’m not sure that your badassery can measure up to mine,” she continued in a mock condescending tone. She smiled rather proudly when Cora complimented her taste in men. It was a relief, to have her support. If she thought that Beau was some sort of loser, Lily may have lost all feelings for him. “ Uhm,” she began, feeling her cheeks flush. “ Well, near the beginning of school, we kinda stumbled upon each other by the Black Lake.” She felt herself beaming, and she wanted it to stop. It wasn’t like she had any sort of claim over Beau anyhow. They hadn’t done anything except talk, and that was unusual for Lily, who was a one-off kind of girl. And they definitely hadn’t talked about relationships. She just fancied him was all, and she hoped that he fancied her as well. Like Cora had said, there was a lot to like about him, in her opinion one of the best-looking boys in the year, prefect and Quidditch captain as well. But she had heard from some Gryffindor that he was broken ever since his last girlfriend left him, and she didn’t know if she wanted a fixer-upper. She wanted a high-functioning member of society. Was that too much to ask for? Batting her eyelashes at Cora with as much saccharine sweetness as possible, she absorbed the younger girl’s story. She was not known for her stellar story-telling skills, but Lily found it adorable, rather than annoying. It was obvious that the girl was pretty smitten with the guy. Van Acosta. She had heard the name before, and if she was not mistaken he was a bit of a player. She hoped that he wouldn’t break her sweet Delia’s heart. “ That’s actually really cute!” Lily genuinely exclaimed. “ Did you make any plans to meet up with him in the future?” Any girl knew that one fleeting amazing moment with a guy was not good enough, and that if she didn’t see him again soon, he would lose all fond memories of her. “ I think I know his twin,” she mused. Cordelia rolled her eyes at Lilly's comment. Lilly probably saw Cordelia with her hair up more than it was down, and that was saying something. Cordelia liked to keep her hair down since she loved her length, but usually Cordelia only saw Lilly during practices. There was the occasion here and there when Cordelia and Lilly saw each other in the castle, either between classes or in the common room. Lilly was a seventh year after all, so it wasn't like they shared any classes in the first place. Even if they were in the same year, Cordelia didn't go to class as often as she should so they probably wouldn't see much of each other then. "Lilly? A badass? Pfft, unlikely." Cordelia obviously joked in the tone of sarcasm. They were the Hufflepuff bassass duo on their team. She still couldn't wait until their very first game. How it was against, Cordelia had no clue. Headmaster Harry Potter had his ways of surprising people. Cordelia would assume it would be against Slytherin, but it may not.
The beginning of the year? Wow, Cordelia thought. Lilly and Cordelia obviously had some different tactics on guys, but she had to hand it to her, she sure had the patience to stick it through. She knew that they would eventually end up together knowing the two a little. Cordelia tried to picture the two "stumbling" upon each other. Was that a literal sense? Or was it just figuratively? "So are you two official? Or are you still working out the details?" Cordelia asked. It was always hard to tell if someone was official or not. Some people didn't like the official name but acted like a couple. Others it was completely obvious that they were official. People announce these things in the Great Hall and it gets a little annoying. Of course they didn't literally announce it, it's just that the group of girls squeal about it in a loud fashion for everybody to hear. "I think you two would be cute together." Cordelia added. They were both dark haired, Quidditch captain/co-captain, and were prefects. How could this not work? They had so much in common, unlike Cordelia and the guy she had a little crush on.
As Cordelia told her story, she tried not to laugh at Lilly's very attentive gaze, with her eyelashes batting and all. Had they made plans for the future? Cordelia wasn't really sure since he said, catch you later when they both left...but that could mean anything. "Uh...kinda. It wasn't exactly set in stone when we left." Cordelia muttered, feeling ashamed for not being more assertive with trying to make a plan to see each other again. It's not like he lived far away or anything. He attended the same school and she was sure she'd 'catch him later'. "I'll see him again though. I'm almost positive he's in my Transfiguration class." Cordelia added, trying to assure herself more than Lilly. Well, at least she was sure that he was in that class. Cordelia had a bad habit of skipping classes. If he was in that class, she knew she'd be spending more time listening to Professor Conrad's lovely voice. "He has a twin?" Cordelia asked, surprised. "Oh wait, I think I did remember him saying something about his sister....is his twin a girl?" Cordelia asked scratching her nose. It wasn't really itchy, but just a reflex to when she was unsure.
