Danica strolled out of her last class of the day more than ready to be done. She clipped her robe over her shoulders. It was the thickest robe in her arsenol and she was going to wear the wool and spend time soaking up what little vitamin D was left in the world. She walked out as the cold hit her face she exhaled. Her ears were instantly clipped by the cold. She slipped the knitted hat from her Nana Molly out of her bag and put it on. There she could easily sit out here for hours. It was not snowing so if she wanted to do homework it would not get wet. She picked out her favorite bench. "Incendio." She whispered pointing her wand at the bench. Instantly the ice mealted and dried. She sat and sighed. It had been a long week.
She took out a piece of parchment. She knew it had been a while since she wrote her mum and dad. Oh her brothers had been reminding her at every chance they got. She took out her quill and ink. Her well was literally frozen over. She tapped it a little bit and a bit of ink came loose. She dipped her ink and started to write. She thought of everything she had to do tonight and she was not looking forward to it. So much reading and too many problems to work. She thought about how she would be in the common room late tonight but that was okay because the weekend was just around the corner. It was about this time a year when she began to start missing her home and parents. Her siblings were all here with her. She thought of her elder brother Beau, she had been meaning to talk to him soon regarding somethings revolving around her father's work and Romania.
She sat in the courtyard and started to scribble. Oh if anyone saw her now, Danica Weasley did homework just about as often as Harry Potter obeyed the rules and regulations of Hogwarts. It seems that Dani got her rebellious nature from her extended family, particularly her uncle George. Danica looked up she saw a quick glimpse of red hair. She knew it had to be one of her relatives but she couldn't tell who. It wasn't that she didn't want to be disturbed at the moment she was just distracted by what she needed to get done. It was goint to be a long night.

Why would anyone want to be outside in January? Rose actually liked the cold, the way it nipped at her knees and her ears and her lips, and how it crinkled in her red hair, and how it watered her eyes. She was an abrasive person, and she liked abrasive weather. The snow and ice on the ground was perfect, she thought, uniform and reflective, not like the unevenly colored and textured grass. She just wanted everything to be the same, calculable, and winter was the best for that. After a dinner of chocolate frogs and acid pops, she headed outside with just a chunky sweater with elbow pads and leggings, with a wool beanie on her hair. The courtyard was a nice place to just be, when she wanted to get away from her constantly yipping friends. She had a roll of parchment in her hand and a quill, just in case she was inspired. To do what? She didn't know. She might sketch, or write bad poetry. It really hadn't been planned out.
When she got into the courtyard, she immediately recognized a red head of hair. It was Danica, her dear cousin. And that was only half-sarcastic. She loved all her family, sometimes more than others, and Danica was just sunny enough to not be depressing, but enough prankster to be edgy. Still, Danica disapproved when Rose was a little bitchy, and Rose disapproved her Dani's motherly ways. So they weren't the closest, but they got along. Her cousin seemed to be having some trouble with her inkwell, apparently it was cold enough for ink to freeze. Walking confidently towards the other Gryffindor with a little swing in her hips, she took a seat next to her. She looked rather troubled, so Rose nudged lightly her in the ribs. "What's up, doll?
" She grinned up at her cousin. She didn't really want to be a disturbance, but she would tone it down if Dani asked. She just wanted some good company. Plus, it would be awkward if she took a bench on the other side of the courtyard. Family had to stick together. " Whatcha working on?" Rose pulled out her own parchment and began to doodle on it. She had loads of homework, it being OWL year and all, but who really cared? She could ace the OWLs in her sleep. She was born with it. All Weasleys were bright, of course, but Granger Weasleys were definitely the ones with the most natural intelligence. Danica was currently writing a line of her letter regarding the sending of cookies and how it would be very much appreciated as junk food was one of the four primary food groups of Danica. Junk Food, Steak, Carbs, and Pumpkin Juice. Not exactly the dream diet of an athlete but hey it worked for her. She saw the flash of red hair out of the corner of her eyes once again. Only this time she took the time to glance upward whens he heard the person greet her. She looked up and saw none other than her famous, or should she say infamous, cousin Rose Flynn Weasley. "Hey toots," she said referring to the remark of doll. She knew of a muggle candy called a tootsie roll and figured that is where the nickname came from. She loved Rose, she really did but sometimes Victorie and the rest of the clan was easier, much easier to be around. When people had found out who Dani was she usually heard remarks about her cousin, and rarely did people have good things to say about the girl. Its not that she was cruel, rather conceited. She had defended her cousin countless times and has worked to keep her humble. How much that actually worked well Dani figured she would leave that up to public opinion.
She looked at her little cousin and how adorable she looked in all her winter style gear. She realized just how cold she was in just her jumper and uniform. However, she was not about to let it phase her. Her cousin then asked about what she was doing. "Just writing to mum and dad, and making a to-do list." She said drearily. It was a rare instance indeed as Danica Weasley never preoccupied herself with schoolwork. Heck the word itself almost made her cringe at the idea of doing schoolwork or being perceived as a smart kid. She was smart but hers was more a social smart. Of the Weasley Clan she was the one that probably made friends the easiest. She was social and always knew exactly what people wanted to hear. Typical middle child syndrome. "I am loaded with work tonight and it is gonna suck." She said matter-of-factly, pushing her hair behind her ears.
Dani looked at Rose intently. It was her fifth year and she would be figuring out what to do with her life. Dani sympathized with her. She was not even certain what she wanted to do with her life. She knew she wanted to go into some form of law enforcement. Either be a member of the Wizanagmot, or Secretary of Magical Law Enforcement or an Auror. Dani was pretty average when it came to school but in Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Charms- she was solid. Although it may not be enough to become an auror, she figured she could beg her uncle Ron or Harry to help her in her pursuit. However, she would be content working alongside her Aunt Hermione in the paper work area of this field. She wanted to go after the bad guys. She never knew what Rose would do though. She always just saw her being her little baby cousin forever. She looked at her and nudged her cousin. "Hey don't you have some O.W.L's to study for?" She asked curiously. She wanted so badly to ask what she was planning but figured it was too much too soon in such a conversation. She figured she would have a lot of Christmas to talk with Rose about as she, her siblings, and most of her cousins were staying at the school for break. She looked forward to the days without classes, sitting by the fire, celebrating with her cousins on Christmas morning, playing a winter match of quidditch. It was only a matter of weeks but it could not come soon enough for the over-worked sixth year.

Although Rose preferred to be the one doing the name-calling, she had been certainly given labels during her time at Hogwarts. And she was indifferent. They didn’t really sting her into submission like hers did to others. But of course, she didn’t jump for joy every time someone else called her a bitch, either. It was a reputation that she had built quickly, and easily, as Beau always had a hard time disciplining her. She almost felt like she was disappointing people when she didn’t act difficult and hard to please. To put it kindly, she was a polarizing figure, you either feared and hated her, or feared and loved her. Of course, there was a very small subset, of which Dani was a member, that did neither, and simply viewed her as another student of the magic school. Danica definitely wasn’t afraid of her. As far as Rose knew, Danica wasn’t afraid of anything! Except probably something really normal, like being afraid of spiders or Inferi or something. She would never admit this to one of her friends, but she looked up to Dani. She was the happy Weasley girl that Rose could have been, if she hadn’t been so spoiled in her early years.
Rose scooted closer and read Danica’s scroll over her shoulder. It wasn’t that she didn’t have manners, she just thought they were silly to use around people she liked. “Why are you doing this outside?
” If Rose remembered correctly, Dani was no fan of cold weather. And she couldn’t use the excuse that she wanted to get away from her housemates, either, because Dani was the most sociable girl she knew, besides like, Tori Abercrombie. “ Uncle Charlie and Aunt Ashleigh, huh. Tell them I say hi, yeah?” She leaned back onto the bench, resting the parchment in her lap. Perhaps she wouldn’t need to doodle after all, Dani was entertaining enough with her furrowed brow and sullen expression. Rose thought about offering her help, she often tutored her friends, just so that they could stay out of detention and get into trouble for her. But she didn’t want to seem arrogant, so she rubbed her hands together and leaned slightly into Danica. “ Don’t worry, your cute cousin Rose is here to take the edge of the suckiness,” she said brightly, with just a touch of sarcasm. At the mention of OWLs, Rose waved her hand through the air, as if to dismiss all of the grueling tests in a simple gesture. “ Yeah, probably.” The truth was, they were approaching faster than Rose thought possible, and she thought she felt little tendrils of anticipation grip her. It must have come from her mother. Her father was more of a slacker, studying and whining the night before. At least, according to Hermione. Hermione was so proactive about her job that she never really had time for her kids, though she loved them dearly. “ So anyway, how is life outside of homework? You have a date for the New Year’s Dance?” Rose smiled, cheshire cat-like, up at her cousin. She was always poking her nose into trouble. And there was no easier way to make her cousin talk than talking about their personal lives.[/blockquote] TAG dani <3 WORDS yeah MUSIC someone like you- adele NOTES i hope you can work with this! Danica glanced at Rose it was true that maybe she did have things she could be doing but it had been a while since she has been alone with her dear Rosie. Although the world saw her as very intimidating when Dani saw her she saw her cousin. Beautiful inside and out, and from what Dani could see at this moment, how much Rose was growing into a beautiful lady. Not that Rose was ever awkward like the rest of them, there is that moment in which Dani saw Rose through different lenses. It could be because the elder always, age wise at least, saw her closer to Beau and the seventh years but the truth was, regardless of the line she had drawn between herself and her cousins that were a year or more younger than herself, they were only a bit younger than her. That year of her cousins would be growing up quickly right before her eyes.
When Rose asked Dani about her choice of location. She smiled because inwardly she had been thinking the exact same thing. "I spent all day in classes today, I need to get out and a change of scenery." She said with a smile. "I need to get some vitamin D in me." She laughed. Then after Rose found out what she was doing, she smiled and responding "Yeah I will tell them, I think mum is having a hard time with Artie being in his fourth year already." She said honestly. "It is the point where you have less of Hogwarts left than what you have already done." She said sadly. It was true Dani was fairly preoccupied with the thoughts of her elder brother, Beau. In a couple months he would be done with school, a year from now she would be in the same place. She wanted to talk to Victorie, Fred, and Violet about getting a nice flat together in London. Between the four of them, they would be able to scrounge together the cash for a four bedroom. It would be just like Hogwarts all over again, her cousins in close quarters with her. Except this time around, Vi would live with her and not in another dorm. It was true that Dani was miserable in her first year and they were separated, but Dani had an inkling this would happen as she knew her sister was brilliant. Then as the talk turned to schoolwork, Dani smiled and threw an arm around Rose. "Aw thanks, it will be rough but if you are definitely welcome to crash in the common room with me." She said with a smirk.
When Rose said she could be studying. She laughed, "Yeah, probably." She teased cocking an eyebrow. "Don't worry I won't rat you out to your parents." She laughed at how she pictured her aunt Hermione would react to her only daughter not studying. She smiled at Rose when the idea of a New Years Ball. "I don't have a date, yet." She smiled as she thought of possibilities, she and Jayden Corner were having a great time getting to know each other. Everyone, it seemed, knew that Lysander Scamander was her dream guy. However, how often did things work out the way people dreamed of? Rarely, so she would move on.
